I believe some of life's greatest treasures aren't found in museums or history books, but around kitchen tables, family reunions, and in the stories passed down from one generation to the next.
Whether I'm speaking with book clubs, libraries, churches, family reunions or encouraging first-time authors, my hope is always the same…to inspire others to preserve their stories before they are lost.

My Greatest Blessing
None of this journey would have been possible without the love and encouragement of my husband, Woodrow Wills, Jr., my biggest supporter and constant cheerleader. Through every dream, challenge, and new chapter, he has stood beside me with unwavering faith, patience and love. I am deeply grateful for the life we've built together and for his continued encouragement as I pursue the work God has placed in my heart.
A LIFE ROOTED

Born in the Mississippi Delta, Sylvia grew up surrounded by two strong parents, hardworking elders, and a village of relatives who taught her the value of faith, perseverance and love.
Those lessons became the foundation for her calling to write.

Her Story
From the Mississippi Delta to Preserving a Legacy
I never set out to become an author.
In fact, I'm naturally quiet and somewhat shy. If someone had told me years ago that I'd one day be writing books, speaking to audiences, and helping others preserve their family stories, I probably would have laughed.
But God has a way of using ordinary people to do extraordinary things.
Growing up in such a large family meant there was never a dull moment. There was always laughter, storytelling, and somebody in the kitchen. We didn't realize it at the time, but those everyday moments would one day become treasures.
For years, our family stories lived only in memories and conversations.
Phone calls became interviews.
Memories became chapters.
Recipes became history.
And what started as a project to preserve our heritage for our children and grandchildren grew into The Wiley Chronicles: The Early Years and Country Kitchen: Hog Killin' Day & Mama's Recipes from the Delta.
Through Wills Publishing, my passion extends beyond my own family's story. I want to help others recognize that their memories matter, too. We don't just publish books—we build legacies.
Because history isn't only found in famous names and historical landmarks. Sometimes history lives in Sunday dinners. In grandparents' wisdom. In recipes written on index cards. In stories that begin with, "Remember when..." And if we're not careful, those stories can disappear.
And perhaps most importantly, I've learned that dreams don't have an expiration date. You don't have to be famous, fearless, or even the loudest voice in the room to make a difference. Sometimes all it takes is a willing heart and the courage to say, "Let me write this down before it's forgotten."
Today, whether through books, workshops, speaking engagements, or conversations with aspiring writers, my greatest joy is helping others discover the beauty and value of their own stories.
Because legacy isn't just what we leave behind.
It's what we choose to preserve while we're still here.
